I won an award of merit at the the Arizona Artist’s Guild’s Spring Show!

I just returned from the Portrait Society conference in Reston, VA.  It was wonderful!  So many portrait artists in one place, and some of the very best in the field.  I had a great time and learned so much!  Got to see my friend/teacher David Kassan, who gave me a critique of one of my paintings.  His painting won first place in the competition.  I also got to explore Washington DC with my sister, Barb.  We had some good German food and a fun moonlight monument trolley tour.

I won the Artist’s Network 5 object paint-off!  See my painting at http://www.artistsnetwork.com/article/Five-Objects-Paint-Off-Winner/

Summer events

9 03 2009

Summer classes with the city of Chandler are almost over.   I will take off teaching the month of August and do some painting while my kids are back in school.

I have an exhibition up in the Ethel Berger Center in Sierra Vista Arizona, for the entire month of July.

2 of my paintings will be in the Richeson 75 Figurative and Portrait Exhibition in Kimberly, Wisconsin.  Opening is August 7.

I have a few new still-life paintings on this site.  Be sure to take a look.

Houg Ranch feed store is now displaying some of my recent chicken paintings.
